Anna Negroni is a senior scientist in the Biomedical Technologies Laboratory where she was appointed as researcher in 1989. She has a broad expertise in cellular and molecular biology. At first, her research field was focused on molecular mechanisms involved in neoplastic transformation of neuroectodermic cells, in particular on the role of oncogenes of the myc and myb families in differentiation and proliferation of neuroblastoma cells. More recently, her studies are focused on the molecular basis of the chronic inflammatory process in the pathogenesis of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and to identify new molecules involved in the inflammatory cascade of IBD as a possible target for specific therapy. She is also involved in studies on the role of gut-liver axis in pathogenesis of liver and intestinal diseases.
