Simonetta Pazzaglia
Simonetta is a senior scientist and group leader at the Laboratory of Biomedical Technologies of ENEA, where she was appointed as a junior researcher in 1993. She has a long-lasting experience in experimental oncology and molecular biology, focusing on design and implementation of in vivo experiments using genetically defined mice, modeling human diseases. She also has a broad expertise in the study of molecular events underlying chemically- and radiation-induced tumorigenesis with emphasis on skin and brain cancers, also including preclinical studies for the evaluation of anticancer therapies. Her recent research interests also involve the response of normal tissue to radiation exposure and the induction of non-cancer diseases, including a focus on cerebrovascular, cardiovascular and lens effects.
