Schede primarie
Claudia Consales is a molecular and cell biologist (BSc in Biological Sciences with full honours at the University of Naples “Federico II”, 1994), with a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Pathology Clinical Pathology (University of Naples, 2002) and a Postgraduate specialization in Medical Genetics (University "G. d’Annunzio", Chieti). Since 2010 she has a permanent position as researcher at the Division of Health Protection Technologies (ENEA).
During her career she was principally involved in studying the molecular processes involved in malignant transformation, except from 2002 up to 2006, when she had a postdoctoral fellow in the Developmental Neurobiology Laboratory of Genetics and Biophysics Institute (IGB), National Research Council (CNR), in Naples.
In 2010 she joined the ENEA, where she has begun to study of the impact of the environment on human health. In particular, she is investigating the biological effects induced by electromagnetic fields (EMFs) exposure, specifically on nervous system. In this context she is interested in elucidating the molecular pathways induced by this interaction. To dissect these pathways, indeed, is particularly interesting not only for protectionist purposes, but, above all, to open up the possibility to further applications of EMFs in therapy.
