Design and development of innovative medical devices
An emerging area in medicine is the combined use of electronic devices and electromagnetic fields for the treatment of oncological and nervous system disorders. This approach offers several advantages, including a reduction in side effects. By adopting a multidisciplinary strategy that integrates innovative biotechnologies, such as 2D and 3D cell cultures as well as animal models for various oncological diseases, with an engineering approach based on multiphysics simulations, we develop hardware and software prototypes of medical devices with different levels of invasiveness for personalized treatment of oncological and neurological diseases.
