Primary tabs
Roberta has graduated with honors in Biological Sciences in 2001 and obtained the PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, at Medicine and Surgery faculty of Tor Vergata, University of Rome, in 2008. Her PhD project was mainly focused on the molecular mechanisms of reactivation of p53 in tumoral cells.
From 2001 to 2004 she worked in Laboratory of Toxicology and Biomedical Science of ENEA Casaccia Research Center, Rome, as fellow recipient of “Ospedale Pedriatico Bambino Gesù”, regarding molecular mechanism and new therapy in pediatric tumors.
From 2005 to 2007 she won a research contract of “Fondazione Italiana per la Lotta al Neuroblastoma” focused on the study of invasion and metastatic mechanism in human cancer.
In 2008 she was fellow recipient of “Fondazione Santa Lucia” to study the role of splicing in human prostate carcinoma.
Since 2009 she has a permanent position as researcher at ENEA, Division of Technologies and Methods for Health Protection. Her main research topic includes i) to clarify the role of genes involved in the innate immune response in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases; ii) indentify new non-invasive markers of inflammation to be used as a therapeutic target; iii) evaluate novel non-pharmacological therapy for the cure of inflammatory immune-mediate disease.
